Here is a link to an interview with Ueli Steck that I came across at www.swissinfo.ch. The title of the interview was this quote from Ueli:
"If I don't take myself out of this game, I will die."

ReplyDeleteThe sentence is taken out of context, inorder to fully understand what he is saying you have to read what he said before ...."In my position I have to be very careful since people expect a lot from me. If I don’t take myself out of this game I will die sooner rather than later."
Meaning he has to take himself out of the game of worrying about what other people think & expect of him or he would have a short climbing career.
I don't know for sure what Ueli meant by that line, but I think your interpretation is as good a guess as any. Thanks for your thoughts.
